She dances and she flickers
She taunts me and she laughs
She disappears and shrinks and morphs
And I always by her, pass
She says that I’m the shadow
That I’m the one who follows her
I’m the one that shrinks and grows
And I away when it gets blur
I tell her that she’s wrong
That I’m the one who’s real and strong
And yet the whole day long
I listen to her tired song
And I begin to wonder
Why am I so real?
Is the only prerequisite of life
The ability to feel?
And so I begin to wonder
As the lantern light grows there
Am I the owner of this life?
Or does that fall to her?
